Patterned Trench Coat

Hey loves! How have you guys been? Hope you are enjoying your life and  working on your goals that you've set for this year. As for myself,  I've been taking it easy. Just enjoying simple things like reading and cooking healthy, nutritious and delicious food. As they say, you are what you eat. I realized that you crave for what you eat more of. If you eat loads of refined sugar and processed food then that's what you are going to crave for.  And, vise verse. Hopefully, I will not fall of the wagon:). Even if I do I'll get right back on track again.  That's what life is about, right? We learn and become stronger through failing.
Whether it's changing our diet or making a life-changing decision that's been on our shoulders for a very long time, we shouldn't be afraid. Because we all deserve to be who we are and to live a happy life. Life is too short. Let's take chances, make decisions and listen to our heart. It is soo worth it.

Another thing that is worth having is a patterned trench coat. This Liz Claiborne trench coat I'm wearing is one of my favorite pieces. To be honest, it is the only trench coat I own. It makes the rainy days more fun. Liz Claiborne clothes seem like more for older ladies, but I tried it on and I liked it so who cares. It looks and feels good. It also has removable lining for colder weather. Here, I'm wearing it with the lining. That's probably why it looks a little puffed up. You can also wear it with denim for more casual look. Hope you guys enjoyed this post. You can always ask questions and leave your comments above the post. Have great day/night. I'll see you guys soon.

An Oversized Hoodie + Cute Beanie

Hey guys! How's your week going? It's been extremely cold here in New York. Right now I'm sitting in a cozy warm coffee and tea cafe with good music and having hot strawberry-kiwi tea. Soo inspiring...I'm taking a picture of the place so you guys can feel the vibe. It is one of those unfamous local places in the neighborhood where everybody knows each other. Starbucks is used to be one of my favorite places to go to, but since I quit drinking coffee I stopped going there because their tea assortments don't really suit my taste.

But, you know, while one door closes another one opens. I've discovered this cozy place where they have a much better tea selection and they freshly brew their tea. I really like it. This is a small change that I'm glad I made. Another change I am making is my diet. I've been eating clean, mostly organic. I'm planning to stick to it permanently, but it is too soon to make any statements. I'll let you know in 3 months.  As they say, in order to adopt a new habit permanently you need 90 days. You can follow me on Instagram for daily foodspiration and some random pics of me:) My username is @go_after_dream

Here, I am wearing my brother's hoodie. When a hoodie oversized it feels so right. It is not only comfortable, but somehow it makes you feel chic. And if you wear it with a beanie then cuteness is guaranteed. Shhhh...it's a secret:) I really like the bunny beanie which I bought at a local Chinese store for $5 dollars. They had other cute beanies, so will make another trip soon. Then, the skirt I'm wearing here is from China as well. I bought it when I was an exchange student many years ago. There are few favorite items I still have in my closet from the Chinese street markets.  You guys, probably, know that the socks are from Kyrgyzstan. My grandma sent them to me. I've talked about them in one of the older posts. I'll post the link below. So, that's it for today. Hope you enjoyed it. See you soon! Stay motivated and focused on your goals:)

Old Navy Hoodie, Steve Madden sneaker wedges, grandma's hand-knitted socks to keep my feet warm in this cold weather:)

Happy New Year

Hello everyone! Happy New Year!!! Hope you all had an amazing New Year's Eve. It's been a while since my last blogpost, but taking a short break helped me realize many important things. One of which is that fashion blogging is my passion. I also made some new year's resolutions, of course. The biggest goal for this years is to work on my blog and have more subscribers. I have a specific number in mind but I will tell you when the website reaches the number. Then, I have smaller goals like not to leave dirty dishes in the sink. I always used to keep the kitchen clean, but for the past two years I somehow adapted this bad habit. It all started with leaving my morning coffee cup in the sink. And that's where it took off.

Speaking of coffee cups, I think I can claim that I am caffeine free now. Yay! Well, not entirely though. I drink green tea which has a little caffeine. I meant to say that I quit coffee, my biggest weakness. But, maaan, I gotta tell you that was tough. I literally experienced serious withdrawal symptoms. For those of you, coffee addicts, my suggestion is to do it slowly by reducing the amount little by little. The way I did wasn't the best way, and it all because I wanted to quit and be free before 2014. So the first four mournings I had to go back to bed because my heartbeat was escalating and I was having a headache. And throughout the day I felt kinda dizzy and all I could think was coffee. On the first day of quitting coffee I couldn't hold myself. I went to Starbucks and got  a short pike (my recent discovery that a "short" size is smaller than the small size cup), but then the next morning I promised myself that I will not drink.

I was determined, so I didn't drink any. Ever since I haven't had any coffee. Today is my 7th day.  I've been drinking coconut milk instead. Now I feel much better, the symptoms subsided. From now on, coffee will be my treat when I meat up with friends or on special occasions, but definitely not an everyday thing. It seems like a small achievement, but to me it's huuuge. If I was able to stop drinking coffee I feel like I can do anything. Oh, by the way, I also stopped consuming milk and all dairy products. Surprisingly, it was easy:)

Another, small resolution for this year is to become better at using makeup. Specifically, master the cat eye makeup look. I think "cat eyes" look good on anyone when done right. I already practiced a little today:) There are also many small resolutions I have on my list. Is there a bad habit that you would like to get rid of? or is there a new habit that you wish to adopt? We as human beings should always work on improving no matter where we stand. Have a wonderful year filled with love, joy and kindness. And I will do my best to provide with the best content and be here on www.styletoscha.blogpost.com and on www.thehappyhandsandfeet.com to remind you to stay on course. Best of luck and I'll see you soon!

Mandees dress, Naturalizer shoes, my friend Becca's bracelet (forgot the brand), it looks amazing though. The head piece is my winter jackets collar:))

My Skincare Routine

Hi guys! Hope you are enjoying your weekend which is almost over. Probably, you are all busy gift shopping and getting ready for Christmas. As you see, this post  is not going to be on styling and fashion. This is my everyday skincare routine. I thought why not share it, some of you might benefit from this post.

But, I don't want you to think that what works for me will work for you. We all have different types of skin, therefore one type of skincare routine does not work for all. With that being said, I would still like to share what works for me, because some of these products might help you to find that product you've been looking for. So, these are the products I've been religiously using for the past 3-4 years.

As you can guess by looking at the products, I have a sensitive/oily/acne-prone skin. Acne is a huuuge problem and it is also a huuuge topic to discuss. There are many factors that causes acne. It might be stress, environment, diet, hormonal changes etc. For that I will write another article with more in-depth details.

For now, I will just cover what I do everyday to keep it under control. Strangely enough, I even get compliments on my skin. It looks good, but it's because I take good care of it or it's better to say, I've found the products that really work for my skin. But, there've been times when I struggled to clear my acne in the past.

I use Clinique's 3 Step Acne Solutions products which consist of cleansing foam, clarifying lotion and clearing moisturizer. In addition to these products I use Clinique All About Eyes Rich eye cream, Olay hydrating moisturizer, and I use Clinique's Take The Day Off make-up remover when I wear make-up. Yep, I am a CLinique fan big time! My skin loves most of their products.

So, I wash my face twice daily: in the morning, and in the evening. First thing I do is wash my hands with soap, because I wanna make sure that my hands are clean bore I touch my face.

       1. I remove my eye make-up
2. Then I gently (feather-like touches) wash my face with room-temperature warm  water using Clinique's face foam.
3. After I dry my face by gently touching my face with a clean towel (people with sensitive skin, have your own face towel), I apply a small amount of this lotion on a cotton ball and gently rub it onto your face. Very gently!
4. After a 1-2 minutes I apply Acne Solution's clearing moisturizer

5. Right after the moisturizer is absorbed I apply a generous amount of Olay hydrating cream all over my face. The best cream evah! If your skin is hydrated it will stay young and supple longer.

6. Then I moisturize my eyes by using my ring finger, because the skin around our eyes is very fragile and our ring finger is considered to be the weakest so It won't put too much pressure on the skin around eyes.

Hope it helps some of you in your search. Please, ask if you have any questions. I will do my best to answer them promptly. Have a good day/night. See you guys soon!

Disclaimer: This is not an endorsement and I'm not getting paid to do this. This is genuine information based on my own experience. Although, I wouldn't mind endorsing the products that I believe to be beneficial.

Olive Green Love

Hi guys! Hope you guys are doing well. Needless to say, but I've been super busy lately. And I am still reminding myself not to forget to enjoy little moments. Most importantly, I have not forgotten about you guys. Good news, we are expanding. New subscribers every day which I'm greatful for. It means my work is being recognized and there are people who like what I do. Thank you for subscribing and joining to thehappyhandsandfeet.com. You can definitely join to styletoscha.blogspot.com. I have a lot more to offer and it's just the beginning.

Speaking of the beginnings, how are you going to begin 2014? Have you made your new year's resolution yet? I'm in the process of sorting through the things I would want to achieve this coming year. Once Christmas is over I should be able to specify my plans for 2014. And the way I specify is I write down everything in my notebook. It helps me to get rid of of the vagueness and to clarify how I want to actualize the plans I've made for the future. Everybody has different kinds of goal-setting methods. Some people like to draw pictures of their goals, others like to create an inspiration board to remind themselves what needs to be accomplished. What is your method? Do you have one?

But, when it comes to creating looks I don't plan ahead. I just come to my closet and skim through the  clothes hanging in my closet and start taking out the pieces that might work together. For example, this olive green look was created in about 5 minutes. And I was pleased by the result. First, I pulled out the peplum top that my mom bought in Turkey. Then I instantly knew that I had a skirt that matched with the skirt. And the corset style summer crop top was added for that touch of Toscha. lol.

I thought I didn't have anything that would say "Oh, that's how Toscha would style." But, I think I actually do. I just realized that I like to add something confusingly complementing. I knew I liked some sort of twists to the looks I create, but it's becoming more apparent now. As strange as it may sound, but styling actually is helping me to get to know myself better. Hope you guys enjoyed this long post. Have a wonderful day or night. See you soon.

Zara peplum top, Tjmaxx crop top, American Outfitters skirt, Steve Madden sneaker wedges, handmade silver earrings from Kyrgyz Republic, don't remember the bracelet's brand (sorry).

Black & White Chic

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Hi guys! How have you been? Hope you are having a great week. I am enjoying today's foggy weather. It looks cold outside, but it actually pretty warm. This kind of damp foggy warm weather would be ideal for me if it was up to me.  It is one of many things I cannot take control of , which is fine with me anyways. But, just imagine if you could change the weather depending on your mood. One day you wake up and feel like you want snow and all of a sudden it starts snowing. Wouldn't it be awesome? Maybe someone will invent some sort of machine that can change the weather  in your own surroundings in the future. While you  swim in your pool, your neighbor next door can make a snowman in his/her backyard. Just imagine! It will probably  happen when people run out of all the resources and when there won't be any plants left on Earth. Haha. I know I'm bad. So, we better take care of our environment now. But, hey, who knew that we could make our houses freezing cold before AC's (air conditioners) were invented? Everything is possible. Although, it is way too far ahead.

For now let's worry about what's happening around us. And you are in 2013 on the planet Earth reading Toscha's blogpost called "Black & White Chic."  I know I know I have some psychic abilities in me as well:) Hehe. Ok, I think I am being overly silly today. Let me talk about what I'm wearing here. I wore all black with a white shirt. So, I've been wearing this cotton shirt a lot lately. I think if I had a "must-haves" list then a long-sleeved white shirt would definitely be on that list. I never knew that it could be so versatile, and in addition it can go basically with anything. So, if you don't know what to buy, buy a white shirt. White shirts are not made for office only. You can wear them with denim, suede, leather etc. Speaking of leather, this faux leather jacket that I'm wearing here is one of my favorite items in my closet. It fits me so well that I don't even feel its weight on me. This is how you know that you've found your perfect leather jacket. Hope you enjoyed this post and the pictures. Have a great day/night! And I will see you guys soon.

Abercrombie shirt, Forever21 faux-leather jacket, Guess pants, Steve Madden sneaker wedges, my friend Becca's headband (thank you).

Denim

These pictures were shot at night by my brother. We had fun while shooting. He pretended that he was a professional photographer and I pretended that I was a professional model. After quiet a few unsuccessful shots he asked me to stop posing and just be myself and relax, which I did. It actually helped a lot. I let go the role-playing and tried to be myself as much as it was possible at that moment. I started dancing, walking back and forth, jumping around until I got out of hand completely:)

A little bit about the outfit... A lot of the times, I cannot explain why I mixed and matched certain items, but after I style and create a complete look it just feels right. I don't usually follow any rules and don't really have any accessories that I'm attached to. At least for now. It all depends on my mood. I think the denim jacket and the polka dot shirt perfectly complemented each other. Squares meet polka dots kinda situation was going on there.

Also, I like handmade accessories a lot.The cross-shoulder bag with tribal ornaments is one of the handmade items I own. I have a lot of little hand sewn cross-shoulder bags, clutches, hats and earrings mostly from Kyrgyzstan. Yes, I am Kyrgyz. I live in New York now. Hope you enjoyed my mumbling. Thanks for visiting my blog. Have a great day or night, depending on where you are. Don't forget to comment and subscribe;)

Strawberry jacket, Ben Sherman shirt, Zara skinny jeans and Steve Madden wedge sneakers
