My Skincare Routine

Hi guys! Hope you are enjoying your weekend which is almost over. Probably, you are all busy gift shopping and getting ready for Christmas. As you see, this post  is not going to be on styling and fashion. This is my everyday skincare routine. I thought why not share it, some of you might benefit from this post.

But, I don't want you to think that what works for me will work for you. We all have different types of skin, therefore one type of skincare routine does not work for all. With that being said, I would still like to share what works for me, because some of these products might help you to find that product you've been looking for. So, these are the products I've been religiously using for the past 3-4 years.

As you can guess by looking at the products, I have a sensitive/oily/acne-prone skin. Acne is a huuuge problem and it is also a huuuge topic to discuss. There are many factors that causes acne. It might be stress, environment, diet, hormonal changes etc. For that I will write another article with more in-depth details.

For now, I will just cover what I do everyday to keep it under control. Strangely enough, I even get compliments on my skin. It looks good, but it's because I take good care of it or it's better to say, I've found the products that really work for my skin. But, there've been times when I struggled to clear my acne in the past.

I use Clinique's 3 Step Acne Solutions products which consist of cleansing foam, clarifying lotion and clearing moisturizer. In addition to these products I use Clinique All About Eyes Rich eye cream, Olay hydrating moisturizer, and I use Clinique's Take The Day Off make-up remover when I wear make-up. Yep, I am a CLinique fan big time! My skin loves most of their products.

So, I wash my face twice daily: in the morning, and in the evening. First thing I do is wash my hands with soap, because I wanna make sure that my hands are clean bore I touch my face.

       1. I remove my eye make-up
2. Then I gently (feather-like touches) wash my face with room-temperature warm  water using Clinique's face foam.
3. After I dry my face by gently touching my face with a clean towel (people with sensitive skin, have your own face towel), I apply a small amount of this lotion on a cotton ball and gently rub it onto your face. Very gently!
4. After a 1-2 minutes I apply Acne Solution's clearing moisturizer

5. Right after the moisturizer is absorbed I apply a generous amount of Olay hydrating cream all over my face. The best cream evah! If your skin is hydrated it will stay young and supple longer.

6. Then I moisturize my eyes by using my ring finger, because the skin around our eyes is very fragile and our ring finger is considered to be the weakest so It won't put too much pressure on the skin around eyes.

Hope it helps some of you in your search. Please, ask if you have any questions. I will do my best to answer them promptly. Have a good day/night. See you guys soon!

Disclaimer: This is not an endorsement and I'm not getting paid to do this. This is genuine information based on my own experience. Although, I wouldn't mind endorsing the products that I believe to be beneficial.

Olive Green Love

Hi guys! Hope you guys are doing well. Needless to say, but I've been super busy lately. And I am still reminding myself not to forget to enjoy little moments. Most importantly, I have not forgotten about you guys. Good news, we are expanding. New subscribers every day which I'm greatful for. It means my work is being recognized and there are people who like what I do. Thank you for subscribing and joining to thehappyhandsandfeet.com. You can definitely join to styletoscha.blogspot.com. I have a lot more to offer and it's just the beginning.

Speaking of the beginnings, how are you going to begin 2014? Have you made your new year's resolution yet? I'm in the process of sorting through the things I would want to achieve this coming year. Once Christmas is over I should be able to specify my plans for 2014. And the way I specify is I write down everything in my notebook. It helps me to get rid of of the vagueness and to clarify how I want to actualize the plans I've made for the future. Everybody has different kinds of goal-setting methods. Some people like to draw pictures of their goals, others like to create an inspiration board to remind themselves what needs to be accomplished. What is your method? Do you have one?

But, when it comes to creating looks I don't plan ahead. I just come to my closet and skim through the  clothes hanging in my closet and start taking out the pieces that might work together. For example, this olive green look was created in about 5 minutes. And I was pleased by the result. First, I pulled out the peplum top that my mom bought in Turkey. Then I instantly knew that I had a skirt that matched with the skirt. And the corset style summer crop top was added for that touch of Toscha. lol.

I thought I didn't have anything that would say "Oh, that's how Toscha would style." But, I think I actually do. I just realized that I like to add something confusingly complementing. I knew I liked some sort of twists to the looks I create, but it's becoming more apparent now. As strange as it may sound, but styling actually is helping me to get to know myself better. Hope you guys enjoyed this long post. Have a wonderful day or night. See you soon.

Black & White Chic

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

Hi guys! How have you been? Hope you are having a great week. I am enjoying today's foggy weather. It looks cold outside, but it actually pretty warm. This kind of damp foggy warm weather would be ideal for me if it was up to me.  It is one of many things I cannot take control of , which is fine with me anyways. But, just imagine if you could change the weather depending on your mood. One day you wake up and feel like you want snow and all of a sudden it starts snowing. Wouldn't it be awesome? Maybe someone will invent some sort of machine that can change the weather  in your own surroundings in the future. While you  swim in your pool, your neighbor next door can make a snowman in his/her backyard. Just imagine! It will probably  happen when people run out of all the resources and when there won't be any plants left on Earth. Haha. I know I'm bad. So, we better take care of our environment now. But, hey, who knew that we could make our houses freezing cold before AC's (air conditioners) were invented? Everything is possible. Although, it is way too far ahead.

For now let's worry about what's happening around us. And you are in 2013 on the planet Earth reading Toscha's blogpost called "Black & White Chic."  I know I know I have some psychic abilities in me as well:) Hehe. Ok, I think I am being overly silly today. Let me talk about what I'm wearing here. I wore all black with a white shirt. So, I've been wearing this cotton shirt a lot lately. I think if I had a "must-haves" list then a long-sleeved white shirt would definitely be on that list. I never knew that it could be so versatile, and in addition it can go basically with anything. So, if you don't know what to buy, buy a white shirt. White shirts are not made for office only. You can wear them with denim, suede, leather etc. Speaking of leather, this faux leather jacket that I'm wearing here is one of my favorite items in my closet. It fits me so well that I don't even feel its weight on me. This is how you know that you've found your perfect leather jacket. Hope you enjoyed this post and the pictures. Have a great day/night! And I will see you guys soon.

Abercrombie shirt, Forever21 faux-leather jacket, Guess pants, Steve Madden sneaker wedges, my friend Becca's headband (thank you).

Denim

These pictures were shot at night by my brother. We had fun while shooting. He pretended that he was a professional photographer and I pretended that I was a professional model. After quiet a few unsuccessful shots he asked me to stop posing and just be myself and relax, which I did. It actually helped a lot. I let go the role-playing and tried to be myself as much as it was possible at that moment. I started dancing, walking back and forth, jumping around until I got out of hand completely:)

A little bit about the outfit... A lot of the times, I cannot explain why I mixed and matched certain items, but after I style and create a complete look it just feels right. I don't usually follow any rules and don't really have any accessories that I'm attached to. At least for now. It all depends on my mood. I think the denim jacket and the polka dot shirt perfectly complemented each other. Squares meet polka dots kinda situation was going on there.

Also, I like handmade accessories a lot.The cross-shoulder bag with tribal ornaments is one of the handmade items I own. I have a lot of little hand sewn cross-shoulder bags, clutches, hats and earrings mostly from Kyrgyzstan. Yes, I am Kyrgyz. I live in New York now. Hope you enjoyed my mumbling. Thanks for visiting my blog. Have a great day or night, depending on where you are. Don't forget to comment and subscribe;)

Christmas Outfit

Hi guys! This is my first post on StyleToscha. Yay, excited to try this out! Hope you guys had an amazing Thanksgiving day. I still have leftovers in my fridge:) As I had planned, I had a piece of turkey and a warm apple pie with vanilla ice cream.  Most importantly, I took my time to simply say "Thank you, God" and literally listed everything I am grateful for. Right after Thanksgiving was over I started thinking of Christmas. And here's the proof! Christmas-themed outfit. I used green and red colors to make it look chritmasy. Do I look like like a Christmas Tree? Nuh, probably not. I need some sparkles. I will post a sprarkly look closer to Christmas. For now, enjoy this colorful ensemble.

So, from now on I will be posting two separate posts. One post will be on www.TheHappyHandsAndFeet.com and another post will be posted here on styletoscha.blogspot.com.     TheHappyHandsAndFeet was originally created for nail arts and for sharing tips on how to beatify our hands and feet. Later on, I realized that I am smell sensitive and can't really work much with nail polishes. That's where I switched to styling. I always loved mixing and matching outfits and had a good fashion sense. So, that is basically how my fashion journey began. I will try to transfer all other posts from www.TheHappyHandsAndFeet.com here. Stay keep in touch guys. Please, feel free to comment and ask questions if you have any. Hope you enjoyed the pics. Have a great day/ night! See you soon.

Street Chic Look

Hi guys! How's life going? Hope you are ready for Thanksgiving turkey. Are you guys planning to cook Thanksgiving dinner? I know one thing for sure: I want an apple pie with vanilla ice cream more than anything for Thanksgiving. Yum! I really like the concept of this holiday. We should be  giving thanks everyday not only on Thanksgiving days, right? But, anyways, it is one of the good reasons to share good memories, laughter and joy with the people dear to your heart.  It doesn't really matter if we are good cooks or not, or if the turkey we make turns out to be dry or chewy (sorry, if that happens).
What matters most is the joy we bring to the table. And one of the ways to feel joyful is by  looking  good. When we look good we feel good, and when we feel good we feel joyful. Please, do not interpret "looking good" as "self-centered-competetive-attention-seeking." Looking good should feel burdenless and joyful. There are no standards for looking good unless you are in Hollywood. My interpretation of "looking good" is when you like the process of putting the outfit pieces together and when it makes you feel good. It's like playing the princess dress-up game, you put on the dresses made out of cheap polyester fabrics and you pretend that you are a princess and you feel good about it. Simple.
And this is one of my feel-good outfits. For some reason, I look like a turkey here, don't you think? I don't know if it's the hat or the high-low shirt. lol. But, I like it. Oh, and, yes, Grey is the new black for now, meaning this season. So if you wear grey for Thanksgiving you won't go wrong. Happy Thanksgiving! See you guys soon.

Blue Stripes

Hi everyone! Hope life is treating you well, and vise verse. The weather in New York has been extremely sporadic. One day it was down-jacket-cold, and the next day it got almost flip-flops warm. Now, the temperature dropped significantly. You might be wondering why I always talk about the weather, "Is she a weatherman?" No, I am certainly not. It's because the weather pretty much determines my looks of the day. When it is warm I can wear something lighter, and when it is not I have to wear something warm. So, taking the weather into consideration before deciding what to wear can be helpful.
Even though, I am not the one who should be talking about the weather appropriate outfits:). If you've read the previous post, you know what I'm talking about. Those of you who live in warm places don't have to deal with this kind of problem. If you think it's a problem in the first place. Despite it's outfit dilemmas, I like winter. Especially, around Christmas time. Are you guys ready for Christmas yet? But, I guess we have to go through Thanksgiving first right? For now, let's enjoy this blue striped look. These beautiful shots were taken in one of those warm days. It was extremely sunny and some shots came out too bright. But you can still enjoy the liveliness of the pictures taken by my beloved brother:). Enjoy your day!
